Her uncle Russell, wheelchair-bound for life due to a fox-hunting accident, compounds his misfortune through heavy drinking by the fireplace, and takes his sole pleasure in life from the vicarious adventures in the hunting field which his rugged son Mark shares with him. They are callous to their servants, and cannot understand anyone who does not share their absorption in the world of hunting, hounds, and endless leisure. Flambards is a delightful piece of British television / PBS history. I bought this while also considering "Upstairs / Downstairs." I do not regret the purchase at all. Although it's not quite the same overall quality as U/D, it's still enjoyable as a period piece. I recommend skipping over the theme song if you marathon-watch the episodes as it will get stuck in your head... on loop.

does anyone know if the sound is fixed?
I bought this series a decade ago, but the sound was so low, the DVDs were practically useless. I would rebuy it if the problem has been fixed. Has anyone bought this? The rating is for the story.
